A robotic coffee kiosk is compact, but it still needs the right physical conditions to run reliably. Checking these before you commit to a site avoids costly surprises during installation. The requirements below are typical; exact figures depend on the configuration and your venue.

Footprint and placement

A footprint of around 2.9 m² is common. The kiosk needs level ground, enough clearance for the machine and its doors, and a position that doesn't block walkways. Corner and wall placements often work well in retail environments.

Power supply

The kiosk runs on standard mains power. Confirm a dedicated circuit with sufficient capacity for the machine, refrigeration, and control system, and a nearby, accessible outlet so no long cable runs are needed.

Water and drainage

Most setups use a standard potable water supply and a drainage connection. Identify the nearest feed and drain points during planning; if they are far from the intended spot, minor plumbing may be required.

Ventilation and environment

The kiosk is designed for typical indoor commercial conditions. Avoid direct, prolonged sun on the dispensing area, and keep the unit away from extreme heat, dust, or heavy moisture, which can affect ingredients and moving parts.

Footfall and visibility

Even the best kiosk underperforms in the wrong spot. Evaluate the location against:

  • Daily footfall and the consistency of traffic through the day
  • Peak demand windows—morning commute, lunch, afternoon break
  • Visibility and approachability—can people see and reach the kiosk easily?
  • Dwell time nearby—areas where people wait or gather tend to convert better
  • Proximity to complementary traffic, such as food courts or entrances

Access for restocking and maintenance

Plan for a short daily service visit to restock ingredients, cups, and consumables, and to inspect the machine. The kiosk needs enough access space for staff to open it and refill comfortably, without disrupting customers.
